This sliding scale is applied only to none trim projects such as remodeling, additions, fire - water damage, vandalism , storm damage. The listed prices for interior trim are not marked up other than additional charges for overnight lodging while working out of town, or dangerous working conditions.
When you receive a written proposal from ArtisanSpecialties you receive the amount of labor and material it will take to do the work. At the end of the total for material and labor you will see a markup of 20% to 40%.
It is figured like this. To understand the cost of running a job, add the material and labor together for the total. Call this total the job cost. Now with knowing the job cost, multiply that by what is listed below to know how much the total will be to run your project.
Why ask for a profit and overhead? My company would not still be in business without one! Different license for each municipality I need to do business in. I also keep our license, bonding , workman’s comp and liability insurance in force at all times. My company’s name Artisan Specialties is special to me. It’s Greek for, skilled craftsman. I, and my men are trained skilled craftsmen with 29 years of experience with just myself. I'm a builder. I'm not a contractor.
JOB COST AMOUNT OF OVERHEAD & PROFIT REQUIRED TO RUN under $1000 40% $1000 - $2000 35% $2000 - $3000 30% $3000 - $4000 27% $4000 - $5000 24% $5000 - $6000 22% over - $6000 20%
New home construction. We will not build anything under $150,000.00. The price is cost plus 10%. Any new home over $150,000.00 the P & O will come down according to the cost of the home.
With doing business in different municipalities my Company has to take out multiple small bonds. My insurance company is so good that all I have to do is pick up the phone and usually I have it within the hour. Very quick, no hassle.
Can I get this kind of service somewhere else? Not very easily. Can I get what I need for less? Sure. But not without delays, and probably having to deal with multiple insurance companies.
With the yearly renewal of my Company insurance policy the following was left in my folder by my Agent. I liked it so much I had so show other people.
The Common Law of Business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot …it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that, you will have enough to pay for something better.
