• Initial inspection of your property is free of charge. All findings are oral.
• Documented findings are a chargeable item.
• Extensive documentation is available at the rate of $75.00 per hour, plus the cost of engineers and testing firms to collaborate my documented findings on your property.
• If the property owner requests documentation be presented so the owner can recoup monetary damages from work not undertaken by Artisan Specialties. There shall be a charge of $350.00, plus the cost of professional engineers, and testing firms to collaborate my documented findings on your property, if required. Payment shall be in full before I start your documentation.
• If the owner requests me, Patrick Clark to testify in court on their behalf to represent my written documentation for the repairs on their property, there is a charge $600.00, per court date, per day.
• Why ask for payment for presenting documentation so the owner can try to recoup monetary damages for bad craftsmanship? Because they either pocket the money and live with their mess, or find another person who will repair their mess for less than I have documented. Either way I loose.

• Do not use an unlicensed contractor / handyman. There is no way to know if they are qualified to do your job if they are unlicensed.
• If YOU pull the building permit, YOU are responsible for the work, not the contractor / handyman. Having the person who is doing the work pull a permit means they have an active license and a way for you to file a complaint against them with L.L.R.
• Do not pay for the work in advance! It is common to ask for a deposit for materials. Not for work that is not completed!
• Make sure to hold some money back for punch-out of any items until the contractor / handyman is finished with your job.
• Request copies of their workman’s comp and liability insurance. If someone gets hurt on your job, you don’t want your homeowner’s insurance to pay for it do you? Worst case you may even loose your home in a lawsuit!!
• Request references of people your contractor / handyman has worked for. They will tell you how your contractor works, and how happy they may be with what they did on their home.

• The check from the insurance company to be made out to both the owner and Patrick Clark.
• Payment of all deductibles and or depreciation of items before commencing any repairs.
• Signed agreement stating my company will be doing your repairs.
• Name of your insurance company and phone number.
• Contact name of your adjuster and phone number.
• Copy of their damage report.
